Smaran Ravichandran began playing cricket at a young age and represented Karnataka across various age groups, including Under-14, Under-16, and Under-19. During his Under-16 career, he impressed by posting big scores, including 167 runs against Andhra Pradesh, an unbeaten 203 against Goa, and an unbeaten 150 against Puducherry. He was also part of the BCCI’s Under-19 camp at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.
In the 2023-24 CK Nayudu Trophy, Smaran scored 829 runs and helped the Karnataka Under-23 team win the tournament for the first time. He also played for the Gulbarga Mystics in the 2024 Maharaja T20 Trophy, where he scored 302 runs.
