Yashasvi Jaiswal was born on December 28, 2001, in Suryawan, located in the Bhadohi district of Uttar Pradesh. His father, Bhupendra Jaiswal, ran a small hardware shop, and his mother is Kanchan Jaiswal. He has two sisters and a brother named Tejasvi Jaiswal. Yashasvi had a keen interest in cricket from childhood. At the age of 10, he decided to move to Mumbai to pursue his dream of playing for the Indian cricket team.
He had an uncle living in Mumbai, though he barely knew him. Since his uncle’s house was small, he could not accommodate Yashasvi; instead, he helped him secure a job at a dairy, where he was permitted to both work and sleep. Subsequently, his uncle helped him secure a spot at the Muslim United Cricket Club at Mumbai’s Azad Maidan.

Yashasvi Jaiswal first participated in the school-level ‘Harris Shield’ tournament in 2015, where he scored an unbeaten 319 runs and took 13 wickets for 99 runs in a single match—marking one of the most spectacular performances ever seen in a school tournament.
