Samay Raina is an Indian stand-up comedian and YouTuber. He started his career journey in 2013 with YouTube channel on which he used to upload comedy videos and live streams of various sports. In 2019, he participated in the stand-up comedy competition “Comicstaan 2” and became the winner.
He also started streaming chess games with comedians and chess players on his YouTube channel in an online chess event called ‘Chess for Charity’. He also participated in the Indian stand-up comedy TV series ‘One Mic Stand 2’. In 2024, he appeared as a presenter in India’s Got Talent.

Samay Raina Career
He created his YouTube channel in 2013 where he started posting comedy videos and live streams of various sports. While studying, he started participating in open mic events. After performing at several open mics in August 2017, he started opening for famous comedians like Anirban Dasgupta and Abhishek Upmanyu in Pune.

Slowly, he started getting recognition and gave successful shows in Mumbai and many cities across the country. In 2019, on the suggestion of his fellow winner Akash Gupta, he participated in the Indian stand-up comedy competition television series “Comicstaan 2”. Samay and Akash Gupta became joint winners of the series and the TV series was aired on Amazon Prime Video.
During the COVID-19, he was not able to do stand-up comedy, so on the suggestion of his comedian partner Tanmay Bhat, he started streaming chess games on his YouTube channel.

After this, he decided to bring together professional chess players and other stand-up comedians virtually in an online chess event called ‘Chess for Charity’.

Many famous people like Viswanathan Anand, Yuzvendra Chahal, Abhishek Upmanyu, Akash Mehta and Biswa Kalyan Rath participated in this event. The money raised from this tournament was used for poor people.

He organized a chess tournament called ‘Comedians on Board’ (COB) on his YouTube channel from 2020 to 2022. Many of his friends and many celebrities participated in this tournament and he won the fourth and fifth tournaments.

In 2021, he featured in the Hindi Netflix reality-meets-stand-up-meets-variety show series titled Comedy Premier League in which he was part of the team Lavable Langur. He then participated in the Indian stand-up comedy TV series One Mic Stand 2, which aired on Amazon Prime Video, alongside Indian rapper Raftaar.
