Bhumi Pednekar is a famous Indian actress who mainly works in Hindi films. She initially worked as an assistant director for Yash Raj Banners. She started her acting career in 2015 with the film ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ opposite Ayushmann Khurrana. For which she also received many awards like Filmfare and Screen Awards for Best Debut Actor Female.

After this, she appeared in many superhit films like Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (2017), Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019), Badhaai Do (2022) and The Lady Killer (2023), Mere Husband Ki Biwi (2025).

After a year, she joined the casting division of Yash Raj Films and started working as an assistant. She worked there for 6 years. She is a big fan of football player Lionel Messi.

Bhumi Pednekar Career

She started her acting career with Yash Raj Films’ Dum Laga Ke Haisha in which she worked with Ayushmann Khurrana for which she also received many awards like Filmfare for Best Debut Actress. She gained about 25 kg weight for this film and lost about 27 kg after the release of the film. After this she appeared in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (2017), Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (2017) and Bala (2018).

In 2019, she appeared in the film ‘Saand Ki Aankh’ with Taapsee Pannu in which she played the role of Chandro Dadi and she also won the Filmfare Critic’s Award for Best Actress. After this, she appeared with Kartik Aryan and Ananya Panday in the film Pati Patni Aur Woh, which was successful at the box office.

In 2022, Bhumi appeared opposite Rajkummar Rao in the comedy film Badhaai Do. She appeared alongside Vicky Kaushal and Kiara Advani in Shashank Khaitan’s comic thriller Govinda Naam Mera, which was released on Disney+Hotstar.

In 2023, She re-appeared opposite Rajkummar Rao in Bhed, which performed poorly at the box office. She then appeared in films such as Afwaah (2023), The Lady Killer (2023), Bhakshak (2024) and Khel Khel Mein.
