Yuzvendra Chahal is an Indian international cricketer who is a leg spinner bowler. He plays for Haryana in domestic cricket and represents Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He made his international cricket debut against Zimbabwe on 18 June 2016.
Yuzvendra Chahal is the second player in the world and the first Indian to take 6 wickets in international cricket history. He is a former chess player who has represented India in chess at the international level. He was also part of the Indian team that won the 2024 World Cup.

Yuzvendra Chahal was born on 23 July 1990 in Jind, Haryana. He is 34 years old. He received his education from DAV Police School, Haryana. After this he completed his graduation from Mahatma Gandhi College of Health Science, Haryana. He was interested in cricket and chess from a young age.

Yuzvendra Chahal Domestic Career
Yuzvendra Chahal made his first-class domestic debut against Madhya Pradesh in November 2009. He took 34 wickets in the National Under-19 Cooch Bihar Trophy, becoming the highest wicket-taker in the country. He made his List A debut against Punjab in February 2010. He has played 134 List A matches in which he has taken 206 wickets at an economy rate of 4.89 and 35 first-class matches in which he has taken 96 wickets at an economy rate of 3.06.
Yuzvendra Chahal IPL Career
Yuzvendra Chahal started his IPL career in 2011 with Mumbai Indians. He did not get a chance to play many matches. He played only one IPL match in 3 seasons, which was against Kolkata Knight Riders in 2013, in which he could not perform well. In the final of 2011-2020 against Royal Challengers Bangalore, he took 2 wickets by conceding 9 runs in 3 overs.
In the 2014 IPL auction, Yuzvendra Chahal was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore at a base price of Rs 10 lakh. In 2015-2016, he took 44 wickets and emerged as an excellent player. In the 2022 IPL auction, Rajasthan Royals bought him for Rs 6.5 crore. With his excellent performance with Rajasthan Royal, he won the Purple Cap in the season by taking 27 wickets in 17 matches at an economy rate of 7.75. He became the first bowler to take 200 IPL career wickets in 2024.

ODI Cricket :- Yuzvendra Chahal made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe at Harare Sports Club in 2016. He took one wicket in his first match and took 3 wickets for 25 runs in the second match. He played a vital role in the team’s victory by 8 wickets for which he also got the Man of the Match award. He took 5 wickets against South Africa at Centurion in 2018 and won the Man of the Match award. In 2021 he played only 6 ODIs and in 2021 he played 2 matches and took 5 wickets. In 2022 he took 21 wickets in 14 matches at an average of 27.10.
T20 Cricket:- Yuzvendra Chahal made his T20 international debut against Zimbabwe on 18 June 2016 in which he took a wicket. On 1 February 2017 he became the first Indian bowler to take 5 wickets in T20Is. He took the most wickets in T20Is in the world in 2017. In December 2020 he played against Australia in T20Is and became the first cricketer to win the Man of the Match award, coming on as a substitute. He was selected for the ICC World Cup squad in 2022. He was selected in the Indian squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup tournament in 2024.
