Rishabh Pant is an Indian international cricketer who plays for the Indian cricket team as a left-handed batsman as well as a wicketkeeper. He is known for his fast batting and is also called the Gilchrist of India. In domestic cricket, he plays for Delhi and in the IPL, he plays for Delhi Capitals.
Rishabh Pant has also captained the Delhi Capitals in the IPL in 2021, 2022, and 2024. He was a member of the Indian team that won the 3rd World Cup in 2024. He is a player who has made big records at a young age. Rishabh Pant was bought by Lucknow Super Giants for a record-breaking Rs 27 crore in the 2025 IPL auction.

Rishabh Pant Domestic Career
Rishabh Pant made his debut for Delhi in the 2015–16 Ranji Trophy on 22 October 2015. He scored a half-century in the second innings and the next month he played his first match in the 2015–16 List A Vijay Hazare Trophy. In the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy, he scored 308 runs in an innings against Maharashtra and became the third youngest Indian batsman to score a triple century in first-class cricket.
On 8 November 2016, he set the record for the fastest century in Ranji Trophy by scoring 100 runs in 48 balls in Delhi’s match against Jharkhand. Considering his performance, he was made the captain of Delhi for the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2017. In 2018, in the T20 match between Himachal and Delhi he scored 100 runs in 32 balls.

Rishabh Pant was bought by the Delhi Devils team for Rs 1.9 crore before the Indian Premier League. In his debut season, he batted at a strike rate of 130.6 and scored 198 runs in 10 matches. In the 2017 Indian Premier League, he scored 366 runs in 14 matches at an average of 165.
In 2018, he scored 128 runs in 63 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad, which was the highest score by an Indian cricketer in the history of IPL and he became the second youngest player to score a century in IPL.
In March 2021, due to the injury of captain Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant was made the captain of Delhi Capitals for the 2021 Indian Premier League. Pant is the most expensive player in the history of IPL auction, he was bought for a whopping amount of 27 crores.

T20I Match:- In January 2017, Rishabh Pant was called up for India’s T20I squad against England. He made his debut in the third match against England at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on 1 February 2017. He became the youngest player to debut for India in a T20I match at the age of 19 years and 120 days.
Test match:- In 2018, Rishabh Pant was selected for India’s Test squad against England. On 18 August 2018, he made his Test debut against England. He was the first Indian batsman to start his Test innings with 6 sixes. He then scored his first century against England in September 2018 and became the youngest Indian wicketkeeper to score a Test century in England.
ODI Match:- On 21 October 2018, Rishabh Pant made his ODI debut against the West Indies. He did not get a chance to play in that match but took one catch while fielding. In 2018, he took 11 catches against Australia which is the most by a wicketkeeper for India in a Test match.
