Athira Patel played her first role in the short film ‘Deja Vu’, written and directed by Joby Varghese. Afer this, in 2016, she made her feature film debut with the Sanskrit film ‘Ishti’, in which she portrayed Sridevi, the third wife of actor Nedumudi Venu.
In 2017,she made her debut in Malayalam cinema with the role of Mercy in the film ‘Angamaly Diaries, directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery. That same year, she also acted in ‘Villain’ and ‘Aadu 2’. In 2018, she played the lead role alongside Appani Sarath in ‘Contessa’.
