She grew up in a Marathi family. Her father’s name is Sudhir Pohankar, a former marathon runner, and her mother, late Shobha Pohankar, was a national-level hockey player. Her sister, Nivedita Pohankar, is a writer at Prithvi Theatre, and famous Bollywood actor Makarand Deshpande is her brother-in-law.
Her grandmother, Susheela ‘Tai’, was a classical singer of the Kirana Gharana and her uncle Ajay Pohankar is also an Indian classical vocalist.

Aaditi Pohankar Career
She started her acting career in theatre. She made her film debut in 2010 with a small role in the Hindi film ‘Love Sex Aur Dhokha’. After this, in 2011, she made her Marathi film debut with the film ‘Kunasathi Kunitari’.
She acted in the 2014 Marathi film ‘Lai Bhaari’ opposite Riteish Deshmukh in which she played the role of a villain named Nandini and her villainous character in the film was praised. The film received positive reviews and became one of the highest grossing Marathi films.
In 2017, Aaditi Pohankar made her debut in Tamil cinema with the multi-starrer film ‘Gemini Ganeshanum Suruli Raajanum’ in which she acted alongside Atharvaa, Soori, Pranitha Subhash, Aishwarya Rajesh and Regina Cassandra.
In 2020, she made her web-series debut with the Netflix series ‘She’ in which she played the role of a police constable Bhumika “Bhumi” Pardeshi alongside Vijay Varma and Kishore.
