Shikha Chouhan Career
Shikha Chouhan began swimming at the age of 15, after coaches at the Taran Pushkar swimming pool in Indore encouraged children from the surrounding areas to take up the sport. She trained alongside her elder sister, Chandni. Later, Shikha switched from swimming to canoe slalom.
After changing sports, she trained under the guidance of Kuldeep Singh Keer and continued her practice at the MP Water Sports Academy. Her speed and stamina in the water helped her progress rapidly in canoe slalom.
In 2022, Shikha won the gold medal in the women’s K1 slalom event at the National Games. She also won medals at the Asian Canoe Slalom Championships held in Thailand earlier that same year.
